Gladiolus
The gladiolus is better known in the Dutch language as the gladiolus. The gladiolus is easily recognised by its long stems and double row of flowers. Furthermore, it is really a seasonal flower and is only available in summer. Gladioli can be found in the colours white, cream, red, yellow, pink purple and orange. There are also varieties with multiple colours per flower. The gladiolus originated in South Africa and has a special meaning. Indeed, its name is derived from the Latin word "Gladius", meaning sword. The gladiolus therefore symbolises strength, victory and pride.
